Around Our Table...

I took a few snapshots of some of my favorite things that surround our dinner table.

Like some vintage linens and a beautiful turquoise bowl that are this week's center table display.

This little antique shelving cart holds my stack of white plates.

There always has to be fresh flowers! :)

Cooking is a favorite here! :)

A place to put my feet up, read a favorite magazine with a favorite scented candle.

An old farmhouse cabinet filled with the necessities.

A chandie. I.LOVE.CHANDELIERS!

Felt Roses

 

"True friendship is like a rose.  We can't realize  it's beauty until it fades."

These little beauties are made from an 8" circle of felt, cut to make a long spiral with curves, and simply glued together.  They are such fun.

Pastels~ Baby Blue with white

 

I love speckled blue eggs for spring.....

 

 

something so sweet and precious about a tiny little egg...or in this case a handful of tiny little eggs.

 

I am also in love with soft pastel colors with white....

 

So this week I am featuring baby blue with white.

 

 

 

And all I used for this photo shoot was some eggs and ironstone, with a little faux grass

 

Just enough to welcome spring a little more

 

 

 

and make me smile.  :)

Dinnerware Display

Spring is slowly making an appearance in our area, but old man winter is still putting up a fight.

This weekend promises to bring sunshine and warmer temps, so I did some spring sprucing while it was still frigid.

 

 

Playing with some vintage napkins, some pastel bunting, ironstone, pottery, and some vintage paper....

 

Add in some faux eggs, and a cloche with a mini nest of jellybeans...

 

And my serving rack has it's new Spring look!

 

This rack has quickly become a new favorite of mine!  It is not only great for displaying pieces but it is very functional too!  It holds a large number of plates, serving pieces, and I have also used it for holding various desserts for dinner parties.  I am not sure of it's original use but it is on wheels and can easily be pushed around.  The best part is....it's OLD!  :)

Did you ever buy the San Pellegrino drinks?

 

 

They come in these most beautiful green tinted bottles.

 

My children enjoy a french lemonade or an orangeade as a special treat

 

And we ALWAYS keep the bottles (and the caps too, read a couple posts below to see what we did with the caps).

 

To add a touch of spring and whimsy to our kitchen table, I pulled out an antique candy crate and filled it with these beautiful bottles, some pink straws, and some lemons!

 

You thinking pink lemondade?

Ironstone

Picked up a set of these ironstone dishes for $6 at a NEW favorite antique store we visited this past weekend.

 

I love their shape

 

and their crackled patina.

 

 

My ironstone collection is slowly growing.  I currently have most of my unique platters and bowls hanging on my bedroom wall.

 

Not sure where I'll use these little lovelies yet.
